PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Foul balls at baseball games can be dangerous and professional baseball is taking steps to protect fans with added netting. Every single Major League Baseball team has extended netting along the first and third baselines to help contain foul balls, and just last week, the Norfolk Tides showed off new and extended netting to protect fans as well.
