But yesterday afternoon they were called back again to help a fourth bird which had become caught by its neck in netting on the building’s turrets.
Plan for golf course net angers Pacific Grove residents
Residents in Pacific Grove are not happy about a new net planned for the golf course, saying it will block their view of the bay.
The city doesn’t have much of a choice — a court order is forcing them to install the netting.
The planned net would be more than 30 feet high and 320 feet long. But nearby neighbors hope the city will at least consider putting a smaller net in.
Memorial Centre’s white netting not so good for Peterborough Lakers fans
Memorial Centre staff and the Peterborough Century 21 Lakers are investigating potential changes to new netting after receiving complaints from fans.
Lakers chairman Bill Joiner acknowledged the team has received a number of complaints that fans are having difficulty seeing the game through white netting installed prior to the hockey season last fall. The previous netting was black. The new netting was also extended to cover the full length of the seven-foot glass which ends near the faceoff circles.
Fish netting controversy in Pumicestone Passage
SUNFISH Queensland is rallying to have gill netting thrown out of Pumicestone Passage and Moreton Bay, which is making waves with commercial fishermen who say banning the practice could decimate business.

West Chester’s new Topgolf almost county’s tallest ‘building’
It looks a little like an enormous playpen towering along Interstate 75 in West Chester Twp., but officials say the new Topgolf facility will be a huge draw to the area, not just an eyesore as some have said.
Several weeks ago 27 tall poles, 170 feet high, began appearing in the sky, then came the netting. Now the only “building” taller in the county appears to be the 200-foot tall Government Services Center in Hamilton.
One Journal-News reader is not pleased and called it an “eyesore” in a letter to the editor questioning the approval of such a high structure by township zoning officials.
